Nollywood actors have expressed grief over the demise of their colleague, Francis Duru, describing him as a proficient performer whose contributions to the movie trade could be remembered.
DAILY POST stories that Duru died on Friday at the age of 57 after a short sickness.
His demise comes two years after he misplaced his 15-12 months-outdated son, Ifeanyi, leaving followers and colleagues in the movie trade in mourning.
Actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, in a tribute on his Instagram web page, described Duru as an entire actor and one in all Nigeria’s most versatile and prolific performers.
“A consummate actor has left the stage. One of the most flexible, prolific performers Nigeria ever produced. Rest in peace, my brother,” Kanayo wrote.
Actress Kate Henshaw additionally mourned Duru, reflecting on the brevity of life and praying for the repose of his soul.
“Like a flame gone out, so are our lives when it all ends,” she wrote, praying for God to grant him everlasting relaxation and luxury his household.
Actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie stated she was too overwhelmed by the loss to seek out phrases.
“Too tired and speechless about this loss,” she wrote.
Actress Stephanie Linus described Duru’s demise as tragic and heartbreaking, praying for energy for his household.
“Such a tragic and heartbreaking loss. May God grant his family the strength and fortitude to bear this loss. May his soul rest in peace. RIP Francis Duru,” she wrote.
Duru grew to become fashionable for his function as Ahanna in Amaka Igwe’s traditional movie Rattlesnake and constructed a profession that spanned over three a long time in Nollywood.
