Two Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs planted by suspected terrorists along the Pulka-Firgi Road in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State have been safely detonated by troops of the Nigerian Army.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, in a put up on X on Friday, mentioned sources revealed that the units have been found at about 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 21 by troops of 192 Battalion (Motorise), below 26 Task Force Brigade, deployed on the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Pulka.
He defined, “The troops subsequently deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal, EOD. team, which safely detonated the devices in situ to prevent possible casualties and damage.”
According to him, the invention highlights the persevering with risk posed by improvised explosive units along roads in the North-East, as troops maintain efforts to detect and neutralise explosive threats concentrating on safety personnel and civilians.
