Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu says President Bola Tinubu has accepted 500,000 solar-powered lights for rural households within the South East area.
Kalu said this on the flag-off of the Renewed Hope Light-up distribution of 26 33KVA transformers and 10,000 solar-powered lights and followers to communities in Bende Federal Constituency.
He defined that 42,000 households within the constituency had been earmarked for the mission, starting with10,000 which might be delivered earlier than the top of two weeks.
“The first 1,000 has been executed as pattern. And that’s the reason you noticed representatives from all of the federal wards of the constituency come to testify that really, actually, it did work..
“The president is intentional in making sure that the objective of the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just hanging on air, that the people feel the impact analysis of the agenda.”
“What we are here to do is to drive that vision home by making it a mission that our people can feel and touch and experience light, that before now to many homes in Bende seems to be luxury, has been demystified.”
“And I want to tell you that, like they said, this is the first of its kind in the whole Federal Republic of Nigeria that 42,000 homes will receive lights in a federal constituency.”
In his remark, the member representing Bende South Constituency within the state House of Assembly, Hon Emmanuel Ndubuisi described the mission as a clincher.
