Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has stated his administration has ended political intimidation and victimisation of residents over their political decisions.
Otti acknowledged this on Saturday in Umuahia whereas flagging off his re-election marketing campaign on the Umuahia Township Stadium.
In an announcement launched on Sunday, the occasion’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, stated the occasion was attended by supporters of the Labour Party drawn from the 17 native authorities areas of the state.
The governor stated his makes an attempt to guide the state in 2015 and 2019 have been unsuccessful till 2023 when his occasion received the governorship election.
According to him, his administration has ended what he described because the period of political profiteers and siege on the state.
“We defied intimidation to liberate Abia and break Abia from the era of siege. Never shall we go back to the era of irresponsibility,” Otti stated.
He assured residents that nobody can be punished for his or her political decisions beneath his administration.
“Never again will anyone’s fence be pulled down on account of political choices. I declare Abia free,” he stated.
Otti stated his re-election manifesto is themed ‘The New Abia: From Rescue to Consolidation’ and would concentrate on institutionalising transparency and consolidating his administration’s achievements.
He listed about 400 street initiatives overlaying over 1,000 kilometres, interventions in main healthcare, recruitment of lecturers and help for industries as a part of his file.
The governor directed state officers to make public services accessible to all political events for marketing campaign actions upon fee of prescribed charges.
He urged his supporters to base their campaigns on points and efficiency.
