Abia State authorities has granted an agro-industrial firm, Presco Plc permission to begin palm oil manufacturing, with a goal of making 5,000 jobs.
The operation concerned the rehabilitation of Ulonna Farm Settlement in Umuahia and the event of extra palm plantations in Ozuitem and different components of the state.
The governor, Alex Otti, introduced this throughout a gathering with a delegation of the agency led by its chairman, Rashid Sarumi, on the Government House, Umuahia, the state capital.
Otti assured the corporate that his administration would facilitate entry to extra land and was able to conclude the required agreements for the graceful take-off of the venture
He described the state as a lovely vacation spot for funding within the South East and South-South, with availability of expert manpower, infrastructure and authorities help.
Earlier, the chairman stated the corporate had spent seven months participating stakeholders in the direction of establishing the venture, describing the venture as viable.
Sarumi famous that, along with job creation, the venture will generate state tax income and supply items and providers to help plantation operations.
He lauded the administration for its understanding of enterprise and help for the venture, and expressed confidence within the firm’s means to ascertain a profitable operation within the state.
